  1. Henry says:

this poor man didn’t do anybody any harm at all!Unfortunately the world is full of haters.Sounds too me like some of the residents of Fort Fisher were not too happy sharing their fame and fortune with an old hermit!Even if they have too silence him themselves! Some of the village residents could not,and would not, share the fame and fortune with some dirty old hermit. As we all know, that jealousy loves to rear its ugly old head, and that is exactly what happened in this case. His neighbors knew that squatters rights goes to whom ever occupies said land has squatters rights too said land. After all,the Hermit had lived on said land for the past 17 years, there for the land reverts to one Robert,E,Harrill. There was no way adjasant land owners were going to sit by and let that happen!A truly sad,sad story of great “American Greed”once again.
